Curriculum Policy
Rooted in Rigour. Designed for the Whole Child.
At Al Fanar School, we offer a thoughtfully designed curriculum that blends academic excellence with child development principles. Grounded in the National Curriculum for England (NCfE) and aligned with KHDA and UAE Ministry of Education requirements, our programme spans from FS1 to Year 6, providing a seamless and enriching educational journey.
Our curriculum is structured to develop children intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. We believe that true learning is meaningful, connected, and responsive to the unique needs of every learner.
A Balanced, Developmentally Attuned Approach
Our curriculum is underpinned by three key principles:
Academic Rigour: Core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, and Arabic are taught through structured, progressive frameworks, ensuring clear learning goals and high standards.
Holistic Development: We prioritise emotional literacy, social connection, creativity, and physical wellbeing alongside academic growth — recognising that these are essential for lifelong learning.
Cultural & Ecological Relevance: Our learning experiences are enriched with content that reflects the UAE’s heritage, seasonal cycles, and global competencies — helping children grow as confident, connected citizens.

Learning That Lives Beyond the Classroom
At Al Fanar, learning is not limited to worksheets or exam preparation. Children engage in real-world inquiry, creative exploration, and collaborative projects. Our curriculum encourages students to think critically, act ethically, and develop the skills they need for a changing world.
